With an appearance
more like satin 'shot silk'
than the highly reflective
Rhetenor Blue Morpho,
this larger species offers
an alternative play on
the ever popular
iridescent blue theme.
We bred our butterflies in a tropical glasshouse in the 1980s, to explore their suitability for the newly-opening Butterfly Houses. Although they bred quite successfully, the widespread and abundant Peleides Blue Morpho proved more suitable for commercial 'farming' of chrysalids and it is the latter that can be seen in most Butterfly Houses today.
Prices:
Pendant with Sterling Silver Choker £95.00
Pendant only £60.00
